Happiness is in air. It’s Diwali celebration everywhere.
This Diwali Let us give thanks for all we hold :- Our health , Our family , Our Friends and to the Grace of God which never ends.
Diwali is a festival of communal harmony whereas Hindus celebrate the return of Lord Rama at Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile while BandiChhor Divas celebrates a Sikh historic event related to the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind. According to Sikh history, on this day, Guru Hargobind was released from prison by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir who freed 52 other Hindu kings with him.BandiChhor Divas is celebrated with a fireworks display. The Sri Harmandir Sahib, as well as the whole complex, is festooned with thousands of shimmering lights. Sikhs consider this occasion as an important time to visit Gurudwaras and spend time with their families.
The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To make the students understand the importance of Diwali, GNPS had celebrated Diwali during virtual meeting on 11 November 2020. Teachers discussed the importance of Diwali virtually with students. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Both Teachers and students enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.
Celebration of Diwali commence with lightning of the diyas. In order to add twist to the celebration , various competitions such as Fancy dress , Card making, Diya and Candle Decoration , Thali Decoration, Rangoli Making and Speech competitions were conducted by GNPS.
School Principal Mrs. Jatinder Kaur admired and encouraged the students for their creativity and expressed her deep concern about the environment and gave speech on the significance of the festival and the relevance of eco – friendly celebrations and advised the students to celebrate’ Green Diwali.’
