Yuvamanthan Model G20; Y20 India at Guru Nanak Public School.
On 28-08-2023, Guru Nanak Public School successfully hosted the Yuvamanthan Model G20; Y20 India event. The objective of this event was to provide students with an opportunity to simulate the G20 summit and promote discussions on the topic of sustainability as a way of life. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing different countries, assuming roles such as Presidents, Prime Ministers, Sherpas, and Financial Advisors.
The event began with a formal inauguration ceremony, wherein the participants were introduced and briefed about their respective roles. Students enthusiastically took on the responsibility of representing their designated countries and actively engaged in constructive discussions throughout the simulation.
Under the theme of sustainability, students explored various aspects related to environmental conservation, social equity, and economic growth. They had the chance to address global concerns and propose strategies to promote sustainability within their respective nations. The discussions were centered around finding practical solutions that could be implemented at an individual, community, and national level.
Over the course of the event, students showcased their research capabilities, critical thinking skills, and ability to collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds. Each delegate contributed unique perspectives and ideas, fostering an environment of healthy debate and learning. Facilitated by their Sherpas and financial advisors, the participants gained a deeper understanding of real-world challenges and the importance of sustainable practices.
The event’s highlight was the unanimous agreement reached by all the nations regarding the promotion of sustainability. Students collectively identified key areas that needed urgent attention, including renewable energy adoption, waste management practices, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable agricultural practices.
To conclude the event, an emotional and enthusiastic atmosphere filled the air as every participant took an oath to implement the agreed-upon measures in their respective nations. This collective commitment further reinforced the importance of sustainability and encouraged the students to actively contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.
